The Rose Gate of the Underworld represents the womb-tomb of cosmic rebirth. In Sumerian mythology, the Goddess Inanna, Queen of Heaven, descends through Seven Gates (the seven chakras) to meet her dark sister Ereshkigal, Queen of the Underworld, who kills and resurrects Inanna.
Astrologically, this Rose Gate corresponds to the Venus's descent below the horizon and behind the Sun, where she "dies" as the Morning Star and is "reborn" as the Evening Star. In the Rose Priestess mystery teachings, this energetic portal corresponds to the Earth Star Chakra, located 6-18" below one's feet.

The Rose Gate of Wisdom corresponds to the Third Eye Chakra, center of inner vision. In yogic tradition, this is the chakra where the body's polar energies (masculine and feminine) find merge in harmony, balance, and nonduality.
This painting utilizes color and geometry to envision the unification of dualities. The overlapping circles form a fundamental sacred-geometry: the Vesica Piscis. Inspired by the optical illusion created by red-and-blue glasses, the anaglyphic technology used to experience movies in 3D, I colored the overlapping circles red and blue, with purple representing the unified field, beyond the illusion of separation.
In relaxing the eyes, vision reveals is illusory nature. Through the sacred geometry of the Vesica Piscis (the Eye of Wisdom), the flower and the fruit become one essence, one system, one being. The Blue Morpho butterfly, its wings adorned with false eyes, is liberated by this enlightening wisdom.
