The "Rose Gate of Heaven" represents the Heavenly Throne Room or Bridal Chamber, where the Goddess Inanna, Queen of Heaven, begins and ends her mythological descent to the Underworld (where she dies and is reborn).
Astrologically, this Rose Gate corresponds to Venus's conjunction with the Sun, when our sister planet is hidden from our sight by glorious solar light. In the Rose Priestess mystery teachings, this energetic portal corresponds to the Soul Star Chakra, located approximately 13" above the head.
The geometric construction of this painting mirrors the proportional harmony between the Earth's diameter and the Moon's (which is equal to the Golden Ratio). When this sacred geometry is transposed over Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, with the human body encircled by the Earth, the Moon's center aligns with the Soul Star chakra. With equal synchronicity, the construction of the Earth-circle produces the eight-pointed Star of Inanna at the center. This ancient symbol represents the multifaceted Queen of Heaven, as well as the eight-year cycle of Venus.
For many mystics, the White Rose has symbolized the unfolding light of heavenly glory. In this painting, nine white roses grow from the same root, their thorny stems dark as the celestial void; while a transcendent white rose, without beginning or end, blooms within the Full Moon, its light projected from the unified Center.

This poetic painting features a luminous whale-shark (or “Star Shark”), a geometric lunar rainbow, and the UV-image of Queen of the Night (Epiphyllum Oxypetalum)—a desert flower that only blooms for one night.
