The Caravella Collection
The Caravella is a spirit ship ~ an astral vessel built for exploring the inner and outer universe.
The ship’s hull is heartwood offered by an ancient tree (Thuja Sempervivens, ever-living sacrifice).
The sails are a patchwork of memorabilia — a collage of earthly experiences, that catch the breeze of imagination.
The Golden Wheel turns with the seasons of destiny…
while a Silver Anchor keeps the spirit grounded in the body and in Truth.
“Paradise”
The Sea is calm and clear. Surrounded by exquisite Bird of Paradise flowers—as well as the Bird of Paradise constellation—this surreal moment of peace is a reminder that “paradise” is not a faraway destination of escape, but an inner state of bliss and belonging.

“Fata Morgana”
The “Fata Morgana” is a mysterious mirage that occurs at open sea, resembling an upside-down ship hovering over the horizon. The name is a reference to Morgan le Fay - enchantress of Arthurian legend.
Fata Morgana is also the name of a flower (Scabiosa Atropurpurea), which I only learned after conceiving of this painting, when my mother sent me wildflower seeds from Texas. Honoring this synchronicity, the seed packet for “Fata Morgana” is collaged into the sails.
On many levels, this painting echoes the mysteries of synchronicity and the true meaning of magick.

Out in the deep blue of space, your curiosity rides a strong etheric current. Your ship is surrounded by star-sharks, gentle giants, on all sides. With steady sails, woven from the most vibrant memories, you let the current carry you, leaving behind you a colorful wake.

The Caravella hovers over a landscape of painted desert, as if sailing on the memory of the ancient sea that was once here. The aqueous sky promises an end to the long drought, starting with a strike of inspiration.

Dreaming of a lighthouse - hope on the horizon. A light remembered, or a wishing star, to keep steadfast this golden wheel. Through the mists of uncertainty, the tumultuous waves are strewn with violet flowers - quiet heralds of spring and a new beginning.
