Inspired by the Pillars of Creation (three massive towers of stardust in the Eagle Nebula), as well as the plant spirit of Corn, this turquoise painting pays homage to the native wisdom woven through the land of North America (Turtle Island).

The jewel corn is echoed by a motif of woven seed-beads. Craft imitates nature, yet all of creation is a tapestry woven from the same thread. In corn, each kernel corresponds to a strand of silk; the bead and the thread are one.
