Astrological themes come through my work both consciously and unconsciously. Many times, I witness symbols or archetypes emerge intuitively, which are later confirmed by astrological timing. Occasionally, I use my art to consciously respond to a particular celestial cycle, in order to attune to its living energetics. These collections are examples of the latter.

9 Rose Gates

The “Rose Gates” Collection depicts the 9 chapters of the astrological cycle of the planet Venus.

In her sacred dance with the sun, moon, and earth, our sister planet Venus ascends and descends the 7 chakras in the body, as well as the Earth Star and Soul Star chakras.

Painting on round sheets of mineral paper, I allowed my stylistic technique to shapeshift according to the energetic experience of each subtle season.

Influenced by mystical initiations of the Rose Priestess path, each painting features a rose, the quintessential symbol for Venus (beauty, femininity, and harmony).

The “Zodiac Gates” are the 12 seasonal thresholds of the year. My intention was to feel into these subtle seasons, to better comprehend them. Working on miniature canvases, I challenged myself to include symbols spanning the Animal, Plant, and Mineral kingdom, to avoid falling into stereotypical imagery.

Each gate is transposed onto a spiral grid of my own design, whose orientation corresponds to the sign’s element. I spent one year focused on the Cardinal signs, another to complete Fixed signs, and will complete the Mutable signs in 2026.
